4-Watertowers TracyReaderDad Book Reviews(The Jerky is to Die For)

Detective Emily Thompson is haunted by the events of her past.

In this, the last book of the trilogy, Emily fights her demons while another serial killer is stalking her (“The Third Time is the Charm”).

Four good for nothing, drug-running, sex-trafficking, criminals (Cancer, Gemini, Aquarius, and Virgo)  have picked up a young hitchhiking girl. Too old for their client, they rape, brutalize, and eventually kill her.

Finding a secluded place overlooking a river, to dump the body, they are approached by Sheriffs Sergeant Spencer Abbott who is trying to be helpful.  A gunfight breaks out and Spencer finds himself next to the body of the girl…..floating down the river.

The four assholes continue their drive to Naperville, IL to deliver the drugs.

Meanwhile, Emily and fellow Detective Hawk raid a warehouse thinking that the four idiot criminals are inside. Getting SWAT involved, they find a porn movie being made….no criminals.

“Torn Apart” is a brutal, gruesome, gritty thriller with a mounting death toll that would make George R.R. Martin proud. Kidnapping young girls for sex, drugs, cops gone bad, mental illness, field dressing humans, and cancer: This is not an easy book to read, but, the jerky is to die for.

To find out what happens….buy the book!

Note:  Lori bought this book a while back from Amazon. Coincidentally, within the past few months I had added Shane to my Facebook friends because he is is friend of Kelli Stanley (and you all know how I feel about her!) and he added me back! When I picked up this book (from the queue) to read….I realized it was his book!  Cool….

  1. That is pretty cool about adding them as friends coincidentally on Facebook. Neat! As Midwestern boy, I really like your water tower ranking system!

    1. Yeah, it was weird. Cool. The water tower pic was taken from my front yard. 😃
