Book Review: “Enemy of the State” by Vince Flynn / Kyle Mills

Genre: Thriller

(Mitch Rapp leaves the CIA)

“Enemy of the State” is an ARC sent to me by the publishers.  It is due in “stores” September 5, 2017.

Spoiled Saudi Prince Talai bin Musaid has just given ISIS a ton of money to support a massive attack on the U.S.A.

Mitch Rapp is on an extraction mission in Iraq. His task to help friendly forces escape before they are discovered and executed. Not an easy task as all hell breaks loose……

Irene Kennedy’s CIA team is short of people due to the events in the last book, leaving Joe Maslick on the ground in Rabat, Morocco following Prince Musaid as he delivers the money to ISIS.  Unfortunately, Joe is not as experienced as the laid up Scott Coleman, and when things go to shit Joe makes the decision to abort the mission……..

President Alexander secretly meets with Rapp.  This meeting causes Mitch to quit the CIA and set out on his own to find Prince Musaid…….

Forming a rag-tag team with Claudia, a couple of ex-enemies (Kent Black and Grisha Azarov),  and an ex-lover (Donatella) the new team sets out to capture, interrogate, then kill Prince Musaid.

Again things go awry, and the team is forced to improvise. In the process of improvising they find that the connections to ISIS reach almost to the top of Saudi government.  With a new objective, and being disavowed by the U.S.A., Mitch and team set out to stop these Saudi officials on their own.

“Enemy of the State” is an exciting, action packed, addition to the Mitch Rapp series carried on by Kyle Mills after Vince Flynn’s untimely death a few years ago.  I am a bit behind (so many books, so little time), but, wanted to read this ARC (out of order) because, well…it is an ARC.  🙂

To see what happens, you will have to read the book when it hits the “stores” on September 5, 2017.
