Genre: Thriller

“There’s something about that date, I thought, but my train of thoughts couldn’t stop at that station long enough.”

Cynthia has just re-opened her counselling practice after taking a few months off for personal reasons.

Even though she feels ready to open up her business again, Cynthia is still struggling to come to grips with her life, and her relationship (or lack of relationship) with her almost 17 year old daughter, Lily.

Her first new patient called.

Sam lost his family in a car accident five months ago, and is struggling (we know….visit ForCarol.com), to recover his life.

He finally decided to get help.

Over the next year and a half, Cynthia and Sam struggle through the many issues Sam was having, the first being anger then, after the anger subsided, he seemed to go through the stages of grief, more or less, normally.

But something was off…….and Cynthia was not aware enough to pick up on the clues in real-time (remember, she is still dealing with her own issues).

What is it about Sam who, by the way, is a very successful entrepreneur, that is “niggling” at Cynthia’s subconscious?

To find out…..you will have to read the book. 🙂

“Dark Blossom” is a very interesting, hard-to-put-down, thriller that I would consider a psychological thriller, as it is: cerebral, subtle, and ominous…I am still struggling with the ending.

The publisher sent me two copies of the book so I could keep, and read, one, and then drop the other for literacy (see here). Both books were signed by the author with the words: “May this be the only dark blossom in your life”.

Unfortunately, it is not. 😦
