Book Review: “The Crossroads” by C.J. Box

Genre: Thriller


Marybeth Pickett is at work in the Saddlestring Public Library when the call she has been dreading for many years comes in.

Joe has been shot and emergency crews have been dispatched to the scene on Antler Creek Road at the junction where the public road ends and three private roads begin.

He was ambushed.

Joe took a bullet in the head, but, by some miracle he is still alive and is in a hospital in Billings, Montana where Marybeth meets him.

With yet another new Sheriff (Sondergard) in town after a string of failures Marybeth and Joe’s, daughters: Sheridan, April, and Lucy hope he is good.

Sheridan is 27 and works with Nate Romanowski in his bird abatement business, April is 25 and works with Cassie Dewell in Montana as a private investigator, and Lucy is still in college.

The daughters decide to “investigate” on their own, but keeping the new Sheriff informed.

Then….everything goes western until…

Ears start flying

and….

Oh, to see what happens in this fantastic Joe Pickett novel you will have to read the book. 🙂
