One day in Nora Pennington’s bookstore, Miracle Books, a very skinny young woman with a much too large sundress on and a hospital band around her wrist did not leave the store as it closed.
Giving her name as Abilene, Nora let her stay overnight and when Nora came in the next morning she saw a wonderfully decorated front window!
Feeling bad for this 20-something girl (with obvious talents), Nora and the rest of the Secret, Book, and Scone Society members took Abilene under their wings.
Then someone died, then another, then……
