For the last five years, Grant Anderson has been living a quiet life as a rural boat builder and boat repairman.
His girlfriend, Sara, and he are very happy together.
Subbing on his friend’s deep sea fishing boat this day gives Grant time to let the epoxy dry on a boat he is repairing as well as a few hundred extra dollars.
The client, Frederick Newman, arrives and he and Grant head out to sea.
Newman, in his slight Russian accent, wanted to go spearfishing for sharks.
Grant tried to dissuade him since spearfishing with the .44 magnum assisted spear could cause damage to the boat, but, Grant relented when Newman picked up the spear and said:
“You know, Paul, everyone dies one day.”
